We decided to launch andallthatothergoodstuff.com on May 7, 2017 as it would have been my mother’s 105th birthday.
Sons who have lost their mothers like to think their mothers still approve of them and what they are doing, even if they cannot actually hear them…. but can they? Can it be heard through doing an activity they enjoyed together such as reading, talking, hiking, watching a movie, a special vacation, and the list goes on.
I like to think my mom approves of my lifestyle, even if at times she really wouldn’t understand it and the naming of the web site, andallthatothergoodstuff.com as well as launching it on her birthday.
My mom and dad met and married during the Great Depression of the early 20th century, probably in one of the poorest parts of our great nation, the Appalachian Mountains of North Carolina. She grew up as the youngest child of 10 and she learned early on to make do with less.
andallthatothergoodstuff.com is a place we hope you find where you can find all the other good stuff in your life. Let’s be realistic, we all have stuff, but what about “all of the other good stuff” we don’t have?
